Biography:
Qing was born and grew up in Urumqi, China, the most remote city from any sea in the world. Her family moved to England when she was 15. After 3 years of struggling with the language and the culture, she started her long academic life in Cambridge. This is now her 7th year of being in Cambridge, and she is about to graduate with a PhD degree in Maths. Despite being criticised by people for being a scary female mathmo, she tries to enjoy her life as much as possible by having lots of hobbies in her spare time. She likes hanging out with friends, dancing (all kinds, ranging from salsa to ceilidh), learning new languages (though giving up easily as well), travelling and starting a new hobby.
我生长在乌鲁木齐，世界上离海最远的城市。我十五岁随家人来到英国。经过三年对新的语言和文化的适应，我开始了在剑桥漫长的学术生涯。今年是我在剑桥的第七年，我即将取得数学博士学位。虽然女数学家的称号有些可怕，我尽量通过各种爱好享受生活。我喜欢和朋友在一起，跳舞（各种各样的，从萨尔萨到苏格兰舞），学习新的语言（虽然也容易放弃），旅游和发现新的兴趣。
