Biography:
This is Barinder - I enjoy applying algebra to problems arising in number theory, such as finding solutions to diophantine equations. My favourite toys are Galois groups, Elliptic Curves, and totally ramified prime ideals. When not playing Mathematics, I am often found playing the piano, whether it be the ingenious themes of Bach's Golberg Variations, or the intense sufferings found in the movements of Beethoven's Appassionata. I am also a keen runner and hiker, and spend lots of time watching addictive american TV shows such as LOST.
